January - Happy New Year!
Beginning in January we will be learning about clothing. Not just the names of articles of clothing, but how they are fastened, what clothes to wear in different weather, sizes of clothing, and so on. We will also be making weather observations as we see changing winter weather.
Please remember, we go outside EVERY DAY that is above 25 degrees. Please dress your child appropriately. THis is a great way to talk to your student about clothing!
We are learning about cookies during this unit. We will talk about how to make them, and of course we will be tasting them! For our family involvement day, we are excited to invite families to come and help us decorate cookies for a winter feast!
Check your child's backpack for more information!
This month we are learning about buildings! Some ways you can support this unit of study include:
Point out features of a building you are in (door, window, wall, roof, etc)
Talk about what materials make up a building (stone, brick, wood, etc)
Discuss different buildings you visit (restaurant, store, church, family homes, etc)
If you visit anywhere special, please take and send in or email a photo for us to discuss.

We are learning about apples this month! We will be picking, slicing, and cooking apples throughout the course of the theme. If you visit an apple orchard, please share some photos with the class!
