Degrees and Certifications:

Michael Uhl

Hello! My name is Michael Uhl and I am a Language Arts teacher for 6th, 7th and 8th grade. Born and raised in the northwest suburbs of Chicago, I went to Fenton High School located in Bensenville, Illinois.  During my time in high school, I parcipated in choir, track and field, and cross country, in which, I qualified for the IHSA State Meet with my team. I continued my education at Loras College, a small liberal arts school in Dubuque, Iowa, where I majored in English Literature, English Creative Writing, and Secondary Education. During my time at Loras I particpated in campus ministry, an interfaith organization called Better Together, choir, track and field and cross country.

This is my first year in Round Lake School District 116, but it is not my first year in education. I have taught at Fenton High School, East Aurora High School, and Eleanor Roosevelt Middle School in the past. I am equally excited to come back to middle school because of their energy and passion for learning. My passion for teaching comes from the "AHA!" moments where students finally understand a concept. There is no greater joy for me than seeing a sstudent succeed inside and outside of the classroom.

When I am not teaching I love to spend time running, catching up with friends and family, watching sports, and generally being oustide.
