Ms. Ashley Arff

Hi, Welcome to my classroom page! My name is Ashley Arff and this is my second year at Beach Elementary. I am very excited for the school year and eager to make some positive gains with my students. This year I have the pleasure of teaching LAB for 3rd, 4th and 5th grade . I have 11 years of teaching experience, from ages 3-21 years old. I graduated from Converse College in South Carolina, where I received my bachelors in Special Education/Mental Disabilities. I previously taught at Crosby Elementary School in Harvard, Illinois with students with multiple disabilities. I then traveled to Johnsburg High School and co-taught several classrooms. I missed working with the younger population and traveled to SEDOL working the ED/BD program at Gages Lake School. I worked with many ED/BD and learning disbaled students and am very excited to share my knowledge and experience with staff and students at Murphy Elementary.  I am currently continuing my education and am set out to obtain a Masters as a Behvior Specialist or Social Worker. I played at the division 2 basketball level where I recieved an internship with Nike to travel to San Antonio, Texas. In 2017, I was nominated as Life Changer of the Year for working with students of special needs. I have previously worked at Lake County Sheriff as a Court Deputy. I have always dreamed of working in a school as special as Beach Elementary and couldn't be more thankful to be part of the Bobcat Family.

I am extremely blessed with an amazing team, who have so much information and help to offer! We truly work hard every second of every day to positively influence your childrens' lives. I look forward to a successful year!

Please do not hesitate to reach out me with any questions or concerns. Together we can make this a great year.
