Hello, my name is Mary Rose.  I am a District Reading Interventionist assigned to Kindergarten at Pleviak.  Before coming to Pleviak, I taught at Indian Hill and Murphy Schools. I was born and raised in Iowa and earned my Bachelor's Degree, in Elementary Education, from the University of Northern Iowa. In 1984, I married and joined my husband in Illinois. My first teaching job was in a private Christian school, in the south suburbs. In 1999, my family and I moved to Lake County.  Since coming to the Northern Suburbs, I have taught in two public school districts.  In 2010, I became a teacher in RLAS District #116. This year, I am beginning my 12th year. I love Lake County and teaching in Round Lake. The staff, students and families are important to me. I've taught various grades and subjects here, but I especially enjoy teaching kindergarten students to read.
