Hello!  My name is Lorissa Kurz and I am one of the Reading Specialist at Village Elementary School in Round Lake.  I have been teaching at Village since 2008.  I started my teaching career as an Early Childhood Special Education teacher then taught Kindergarten and First Grade.  I became a Reading Specialist in 2014 and I am beyond happy to provide extra reading support to students.  

A little bit about myself.....I have a husband, two sons who are full of energy and keep me very busy at home, a dog named Rainy and a bearded dragon named Chewy.  On my free time, I love to spend time with my family, exercise, read, shop and cook.  

My overall goal as a Reading Specialist is to meet the student's needs, but also keep them motivated and engaged and find that love for reading!!
