Hello, my name is Joann Kallianis and I am a first grade Special Education Resource Teacher at Ellis Elementary School.  I have been in the field of Special Education and have taught for over thirty years.  My extensive teaching experience has allowed me to work with outstanding professionals and students in several districts in Illinois. My goal is to give the students the foundational skills and experiences that will allow them to compete and exceed in their present and future years.  When I am not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my friends and family.  I also have several hobbies such as reading,gardening, and collecting antiques and artifacts.  My goal for my retirement years will be to spend as much time as I can with my daughters and possible grand-children that I can't wait to spoil!  Please feel free to contact me anytime if you have questions regarding your child's learning.  I will always be an advocate for your child.  I believe education is a journey and not a destination.
