Mrs. Janie Metzger

Dear Parents,

We are excited to "move forward" into the new school year where we will return to face-to-face learning.  The pandemic has taught me how important community is especially when facing challenging times.  We want every family to feel they are an important, valued member of our school community.  Our mission is to provide all children access to a high-quality preschool program that supports a child’s full participation in their community.  We believe all children can learn when given time, quality instruction, and support.  We believe children learn best when they learn alongside their peers regardless of their abilities or disabilities.  We believe children learn the most when they have access to a variety of play-based experiences.  We also believe that parent participation is key to their child’s success in school.  Our staff is committed to these beliefs and will fully support your child in meeting their academic and social-emotional goals.  I am so proud to serve as your principal and I will continue to work to create the very best preschool environment and school community at the Early Education Center. I am a wife, mother, and grandmother.   I believe children are a gift, and it is the responsibility of the adults in their life to love and protect them, to care for them, and to nurture their development. These beliefs guide my leadership of the preschool program, how decisions are made, and how we serve children.  I look forward to the coming school year and to the opportunity to work with you and your child. Please contact me anytime with questions or concerns.

Mrs. Sara Grabow

Hello! My name is Sara Grabow, and I am the Assistant Principal for the Early Education Center. I have been with the early childhood program for eleven years, but this is my first year in this role. Early childhood education is my passion. I began my career volunteering at the Early Education Center when I was in high school. I continued to work in education as a teaching assistant, classroom teacher, and now as an assistant principal. It is my goal to promote family involvement within the school that will lead to a strong foundation for school readiness. I would like to welcome all families into the program and encourage you to ask questions and get involved. I will work with staff and families to ensure a strong connection between both home and school.

As a fellow Round Lake graduate, I know the potential that lies ahead for all students. The Early Education Center is the first step into the school community. I will strive to ensure the experiences here are ones that will excite your child for the possibilities that are still to come. If look forward to meeting all students and their families.

Sincerely,

Sara Grabow, Assistant Principal
