Dear Ellis Families,

Welcome to the 2019-2020 school year!  I am excited to be starting my second year as Principal at Ellis.  We have been working all summer to plan some great events for your children this year.  I am happy to announce that in October we will are coordinating a three-day art residency program with artist Danielle Dancer.  He will spend three days at Ellis and in the community to teach our students how art, science, and math all come together.  This project, funded by donations and grants, will culminate with a video presentation of our students creating a human art project in the field.  Keep your eyes open for more info and ways you can help!  In addition, we have added some great family nights for all of our families to attend.  These nights are on the district calendar.  Partnering with you in education is vital to your child’s success so please mark your calendars now and plan to join us for these great extracurricular learning opportunities.

For those of you that are new to Ellis, I hope you find time to stop in and say hi and meet the office staff.  As for me, I have been in education for over 25 years and have held roles as a math teacher, dean of students, assessment coordinator, assistant principal, and principal.  My husband, daughter and I live in Ingleside and much of our family time is spent boating on the Chain of Lakes or camping.  My hobbies are crafting, sewing, crocheting, and learning!!

I can’t wait for the students to return! I look forward to seeing everyone and meeting new families.  If you have any questions throughout the year my door is almost always open and I can be reached at 847-270-9901.

Sincerely,
Debbie Holland, Principal

Welcome to the 2019-2020 school year! I am very excited to join Ellis Elementary School this year.

I am coming to Ellis from Murphy Elementary. This year, I am excited to support Ellis students and will be focused on the District SEL initiative as well as the PBIS program to build strong relationships with students, families, and staff.

I have been an educator and advocate for students for the past twenty years. As a teacher, my experience spans early childhood through middle school. As a school administrator, I have served as a principal, an assistant principal, and dean in both the public and private sectors.

My love for working with students has led me to volunteer for Boy Scout and Girl Scout troops, coach soccer and teach swimming. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, biking, swimming and traveling. I am also a fan of the Bears, the Cubs, and the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.

I am looking forward to getting to know and work with all of the students, families, and staff at Ellis Elementary. If you need any assistance with your child(ren), please feel free to contact me at (847) 270-9953. My door is always open, so please feel free to stop by and visit.

Sincerely,

Lisa Ryan, Assistant Principal
