Murphy School Community: 

Welcome to the 2023-2024 school year. My name is Dr. James Tohme and I have the privilege of being the principal at Murphy Elementary School. I am excited to begin my fourth year at Murphy and look forward to collaborating alongside our staff and parents to ensure that our students have a successful year of learning and growing academically, socially, emotionally, and physically.

My goal as the instructional leader at Murphy Elementary School is to work in a collaborative manner with students, parents, and staff to foster a safe, enriching, and engaging school environment. I am excited to invite you all to your first opportunity to come into school, which will be our “Meet the Teacher and Supply Drop-off”. This event will take place on Thursday, August 10th from 3:30 - 5:00 p.m. This will be a great opportunity for you and your child to meet teachers and drop off school supplies. I look forward to seeing you all in person on Thursday, August 10th!!

Bienvenidos al año escolar 2023-2024. Mi nombre es Dr. James Tohme y tengo el privilegio de ser el director de la Escuela Primaria Murphy. Estoy emocionado de comenzar mi cuarto año en Murphy y espero colaborar con nuestro personal y los padres para asegurar que nuestros estudiantes tengan un año exitoso de aprendizaje y crecimiento académico, social, emocional y físico.

Mi objetivo como líder de instrucción en la Escuela Primaria Murphy es trabajar de manera colaborativa con los estudiantes, los padres y el personal para fomentar un ambiente escolar seguro, enriquecedor y atractivo. Estoy emocionado de invitarlos a todos a su primera oportunidad de venir a la escuela, que será nuestro "Conozca al maestro y entrega de útiles". Este evento se llevará a cabo el jueves 10 de agosto de 5:30 a 7:00 pm. Esta será una gran oportunidad para que usted y su hijo conozcan a los maestros y dejen los útiles escolares. ¡Espero verlos a todos en persona el jueves 10 de agosto!

Welcome to the 2023-2024 school year. I am so excited to be starting my 3rd year at Murphy as assistant principal and my 17th year in education.  We have many exciting things planned for this school year and can’t wait for it to begin!

Our theme this year is Back to the B.A.S.I.C.S.  B.A.S.I.C.S stands for Being Awesome Students & Staff Inside the Classroom and School. This school year we are striving for all of our students to be actively engaged within our Murphy community. We want our students and families to be invested in learning and an active part of our school community. 

One of my main goals is to continue to grow our school/family partnership. This partnership is one of the key factors in success for your child.  I look forward to working together to make this year one of the best for our students. Together, we can help our students to be the best they can be and to reach their greatest potential. Go Mustangs!
