Dear Kindergarten at Pleviak Families,
Welcome to kindergarten! I want to extend to you and your family a very warm welcome to Kindergarten at Pleviak. Kindergarten is an exciting time when children embark upon new adventures in the world of learning. It is a time when children will acquire new skills both academically and socially that will enhance their ability to learn in many ways.
This is my second year as the principal and I am honored to be here at Pleviak. My goal is to ensure that all children are healthy, happy and safe so they learn as much as they can!
I have been devoted to the field of education for 22 years. I have worked as a teacher, literacy coach, assistant principal and principal. I will spend time getting to know your children as I visit their classes throughout the day. I will celebrate their successes, small and large. I will encourage them every day, and let them know they are valued and have a special place in our school community.
Not only am I excited for your child to be here at Pleviak, but I am also looking forward to the work we will do together. “It takes a village to raise a child,” and the Pleviak staff and I will be here to work with you every step of the way.
Once again, I am privileged to have the opportunity to bring all that I have experienced and learned to Kindergarten at Pleviak. I look forward to getting to know you and your children. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions, comments and/or concerns. I am easily reached at sswanson@rlas-116.org.

Mrs. Erin Marquard
Welcome to Kindergarten at Pleviak! My name is Erin Marquard and I am thrilled to serve as your Assistant Principal. Being in the field of education for over 20 years, with more than half of it spent in Kindergarten, I have high expectations for myself as well as all students, knowing that they are capable of anything they put their minds to. I believe in instilling a growth mindset in all our young learners while providing them with the tools early on that they need to succeed.
This will be a year unlike any other - one in which you will see an enormous amount of growth in your child. Our staff does an exemplary job of providing a solid foundation for each child and we are all here to work in partnership with you, to make sure it is a successful year academically, as well as emotionally, for your child.
I believe in open communication as a way to build a bridge between home and school, creating the best possible educational experience for your children. Please feel free to reach out to me at emarquard@rlas-116.org with any concerns or questions that may arise throughout the year. I look forward to getting to know you and your family as we work together to make this an unforgettable experience for your child.
