Welcome to the Superintendent's Office
Welcome to the 2019-2020 School Year! We are so excited that you have made the decision to call RLAS-116 your home!
For the past 20+ years, I have had the sincere pleasure of serving students, staff and community as an educational leader in a variety of capacities at the elementary, middle, high school and central office levels. I began with RLAS-116 in 2013 as Principal of Round Lake High School and have served as Assistant Superintendent of Secondary Education and Deputy Superintendent since that time. I am honored to be entering my second year of serving the RLAS-116 community as Superintendent.
Based upon my experiences in RLAS-116, it is apparent that district and building stakeholders have facilitated a nurturing atmosphere for students in a results-oriented manner. Value-driven and collaborative leadership, integrity, prudent financial planning, a strong K-12 curriculum background, a commitment to community involvement, and visibility are essential leadership qualities that I value. Witnessing the growth that has occurred over the last several years has been very exciting. I look forward to continuing on a path of positive trajectory alongside our oustanding staff, students, families and community members.
The 2019-2020 school year will be the final year of our 5-Year Strategic Plan. We work closely with a community-staff based committee to develop the next 3-Year Strategic Plan. Initiatives developed as part of the Plan are essential to the continued growth and progress that we continue to make at RLAS-116. I look forward to sharing the results of the next Plan with our larger community.
Teamwork and collaboration have always been underlying leadership philosophies for me. I have experienced firsthand the value of individuals working together as a team accomplishing more than the individual alone. These philosophies were developed early for me through school activities and athletics, and have served me well as an educational leader, at the elementary, middle high school and central office levels where teaming and collaboration are essential in providing students and staff with positive experiences. I look forward to continuing this work as your Superintendent.
I am so appreciative for the opportunity to serve as a leader of RLAS-116. There is no place I would rather be!
