    Name: 2021 Round Lake High School Athletic Booster Club Scholarship

    The Round Lake High School Athletic Boosters are pleased to announce the availability of a minimum of one $1,000 Scholarship for a minimum of one student athlete at Round Lake High School.

    These scholarships are one time grants, designed to assist student athletes pursuing further education. The scholarships are intended to recognize outstanding graduating athletes of Round Lake High School. Applicants will be evaluated on the basis of their dedication, sportsmanship, and leadership, as well as academic achievement and character.

    Amount: (2) $1000 

    Deadline: June 7, 2021 by 3:30pm 

    Eligibility Requirements: 

    • Applicants must be a graduating of Round Lake High School.
    • Student must have participated in one athletic team during the student’s last two years of attending RLHS.
    • Cumulative GPA of 3.0
    • Plan on continuing your education at post-secondary institution in the 2021-2022 school year. Post- secondary institutions include, but are not limited to, colleges, universities, technical and vocational schools.
    • Complete the application (w/essay) via google form (link can be found in email sent to your RLHS student email)

    If you are interested in applying for one of these scholarships, the application process is as follows:

      1. Complete the full application through the google form you've been emailed to your RLHS email address. 
      2. Answer the essay within the google form application.
        1. In 250-300 words: "As a student athlete at RLHS, please describe how your participation in RLHS athletics has affected you.”
      3. Understand that if you win the honor of this scholarship you must attend on the evening of Monday, June 14th the Senior Athlete Award Banquet. Details on the banquet will be given to the award recipients.

       

    1. Selection Criteria:

      • Applicants will be evaluated on the basis of their dedication, sportsmanship, leadership and character.
      • The typewritten essay will also be a key component of the evaluation.
      • The student’s participation in sports at the post-secondary institution will not be a factor in the selection process.
      • Financial need is not a factor or consideration in applying for this scholarship.

    Name: Blue Crescent Outreach Foundation - Nu Lambda Sigma Chapter (for male applicants)

    Eligibility Requirements: 

    • Applicant must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.50 on his official current transcript. 
    • High school applicant must be accepted into an accredited college, university, or trade school before award will be released.
    • Applicant must demonstrate scholastic achievement and involvement in extra-curricular activities promoting community building and service.
    • Applicant must be a resident of Lake County Public School District.
    • Applicant must obtain 2 letters of recommendation*.

    Name: Round Lake Area Pageant Corporation (for female applicants)

    Amount: (1)$500 Awarded to the woman selected to be Miss Round Lake Area 2021 upon completion of her year of service. (1)$100 Awarded night of pageant to the contestant who writes the best essay describing her life in the Round Lake Area- specific topic will be provided when registration to Pageant is complete.

    Deadline: All participants must be registered by June 11, 2021

Essay contest is scored and selected by a separate judge and awarded night of pageant.

    Name: Lake County Branch NAACP Sigma Scholarship

    Amount: (3) scholarships for various amounts will be awarded

    Deadline: April 30, 2021 by 3pm - Deadline Extended to: May 15th, 2021

    Eligibility Requirements: 

    • Must be a Lake County, IL resident
    • Must have at least a 2.5 GPA or higher (on a 4.0 scale)
    • Copy of a head shot photo (may be taken with cell phone)
    • A list of community service/involvement activities and number of hours volunteered

    Name: The Round Lake High School Athletic Hall of Fame "Panther Pride" $500.00 Scholarship

    The Round Lake High School Athletic Hall of Fame is proud to announce the application process for our three $500 scholarships that honor two of our former coaches, Coach Howard Conkling and Coach Dave Channel. Both Howard Conkling and Dave Channel coached multiple sports and each coached for over 30 years at RLHS.

    Amount: (3) $500 

    Deadline: May 11, 2021 by 3pm 

    Eligibility Requirements: 

    • Applicants must be a graduating senior athlete of Round Lake High School.
    • Multi-sport (preferred)
    • Cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher
    • Plan on continuing your education at a 2-year or 4-year college or university in the 2021-2022 school year.
    • Complete the application (w/essay) via google form (link can be found in email sent to your RLHS student email)

    If you are interested in applying for one of these scholarships, the application process is as follows:

    2. List the colleges and/or universities you plan on attending in the 2021-2022 school year.
      1. The RLHS Athletic HOF committee will ask for a copy of your acceptance letter to the college/university you plan to attend. Please scan and upload.
    3. List all of the sports and the years you participated during your time at RLHS.
    4. List all school (non-athletic) or community activities you participated in during your high school years.

    Name: 2021 Round Lake Area Exchange Club Scholarship

    Amount: (2) $500

    Deadline: 2pm May 7, 2021

    Eligibility Requirements: 

    • These scholarships are designed to assist graduates who want to further their education academically or vocationally.
    • Applicants must be graduating seniors of Round Lake High School.
    • The recipients of the scholarships must plan on enrolling as a FULL TIME student (12 hours) at an accredited college or vocational program.
    • Financial need is not a consideration in awarding this scholarship.
    • The Club members determine final discretion of eligibility of applicants.
    • Winning applicants are required to attend the May 27, 2021 Round Lake Area Exchange Club meeting via Zoom.
    • You must complete the application: (link provided to RLHS students to their RLHS email)
      • The application is a google doc and within the application there are 5 required short answer questions:
        • Who or what has been the biggest influence on your life? Please explain why.
        • Why do you feel you are deserving of this scholarship?
        • Discuss your plans for continuing your education.
        • List the contributions to the school and the community, which you have made throughout your time in high school. Include any volunteer experience, organizations that you have belonged to, offices held, awards/honors you have received, etc?
        • As you look to the future what are your short and long-term goals
          • And one optional question (you should answer should you have work experience)
          • List your work experience.

    Award Selection:

    • The Scholarship Committee will select the recipients based on the information provided by the student as requested on the application form and a virtual interview with the applicant, if requested.
    • Interviews will take place virtually on Wednesday, May 12, 2021. It is the responsibility of the applicant to attend the interview at their assigned time.
    • The Scholarship Committee of the Round Lake Area Exchange Club will make the final award selections.
    • The awards will be made upon proof of registration from the college, university or vocational school. Payouts must be in the 2021-2022 school year and may not be deferred.
    • Families of the Round Lake Area Exchange Club are not eligible for these scholarships.
    • Altered or incomplete applications will not be considered.
    • Applicants will be contacted by email following the deadline date.

    Round Lake Area Exchange Club Information:

    The Round Lake Area Exchange Club was founded in 2000. The Club is a service-oriented organization, sponsoring activities under the National organization’s Programs of Service - Americanism, Youth Programs, and Community Service - as well as its National project, the prevention of child abuse.     Name: Kim Kearby Scholarship

    Kim Kearby dedicated 40 years of his life teaching Round Lake children at Beach and Village Elementary Schools. He was a frontline supporter of labor, civil liberties, and social issues.  He will be remembered for his dedication to his community as teacher, leader, organizer, and activist.

    Amount: (4) $1,000

    Deadline: 3pm April 23, 2021

    Eligibility Requirements: 

    • Current high school seniors at Round Lake High School who will be attending a college, university, or community college following high school graduation are eligible to apply.
    • There is no GPA requirement for this scholarship ALL RLHS seniors who plan on attending a college, university or community college are eligible to apply!
    • You must complete the application. (Application will be emailed to all Seniors at their RLHS email address)
    • You will be required to answer (3) short answer questions.

    Please prepare a typed response to the following questions:

    1. Why do you feel that you are deserving of the Kim Kearby Senior Scholarship?  Please discuss all of your contributions to your community and humanitarian acts.
    2. Discuss your plans for continuing your education.  Include names of schools or college that you are considering and the field that you intend to pursue?
    3. As you look to the future, what are your short and long term goals? 

    Criteria for Selection:

    • The Education Association of Round Lake (E.A.R.L.) is looking to award students who contribute to their community.

    Name: 2021 Lake Villa, Lindenhurst, Round Lake Chamber Scholarship

    Amount: (3) $500

    Deadline: 3pm April 23, 2021

    Eligibility Requirements: 

    • High school seniors eligible to attend Round Lake High School and or living within Lake Villa Township who will be attending a college/university, community college following high school graduation are eligible to apply.
    • There is no GPA requirement for this scholarship ALL RLHS Seniors who plan on attending a college, university, technical school or community college are eligible to apply!
    • You must complete the application. (Application will be emailed to all Seniors at their RLHS email address)
    • A resume must be attached containing information about your school awards and activities, your community service involvement and your work experience
    • A short essay (500 words or less) on your future work goals and how you intend to achieve them as well as any other information which you would like the Committee to consider
    • An up-to-date copy of your high school transcript (Ask Mr. Bruno to send for you)
    • Acceptance letter from the college you are planning to attend
    • A interview will be required for finalists

    Name: State Bank of the Lakes Scholarship

    Amount: (1) $500 a year for 4 years = $2,000 total

    Deadline: April 9, 2021 by 3pm

    Eligibility Requirements: 

    • Current high school seniors at Round Lake High School who will be attending a 4 year College or University following high school graduation are eligible to apply.
    • Completed Application along with a 1 essay on why you should be selected for this scholarship.
    • One letters of reference must accompany this application.
    • Transcript of high school grades. (Mr. Bruno will provide this once you've sent him your completed application)
    • Financial Aid Statement form needs to be completed and signed by applicant and parent on page two of the application.

    Name: Fox Lake/Round Lake Rotary Scholarship

    Amount: (2) $1,000

    Deadline: 3pm February 26, 2021

    Eligibility Requirements: 

    • Current high school seniors at Round Lake High School who will be attending a college, university, or community college following high school graduation are eligible to apply.
    • Completed Application along with a 1 to 2-page essay on the applicant’s career goals.
    • Two letters of reference must accompany this application.
    • Transcript of high school grades. (Mr. Bruno will provide this once you've sent him your completed application)
    • Applicant and guidance counselor signatures at the end of the application. (type your name or sign your name on the signature line of the application)

    Completed application packets (all required items must be sent in one email together) must be received via email to Mr. Bruno (jbruno@rlas-116.org) or if back in school in to the College and Career Center by 3pm February 26, 2021. The scholarship committee will conduct final interviews in March 2021 and select the winners. Winners will be announced at Honor’s Night at your local high school. Payment of the scholarship will be made directly to the college or university once we receive confirmation from their school that they will be attending.

    Criteria for Selection:

    The criteria for selection shall include but not be limited to:

    1. Participation in general extracurricular activities in school or volunteer work in the community.
    2. Character recommendations from people who know the applicant.
    3. Overall grades and honors in school.
    4. Interview rapport with Rotarians.

    Letters of recommendation need to be geared to the particular applicant’s readiness to successfully pursue their education.

    Name: The Waukegan Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc's Annual Scholarship

Both letters must be typed, signed by the author, and include a phone number for the author to be reached if needed. Reference letters can be mailed or emailed directly from the person writing the letter.
